About the event

Would you like to advance your sewing skills and learn how to create a skirt that includes a standard zipper and darts just in time for the fall season?

Join us for two-session class where you'll learn the art of inserting a standard zipper while creating a skirt you can wear. In addition to tackling zipper insertion, you will also learn how to sew darts to provide fabric shaping and learn additional stitches as we work through skirt construction. We will guide you step-by-step through the process, providing invaluable tips and tricks along the way.

Whether you're a seasoned sewist who wants to advance your technique or a more confident beginner eager to expand your sewing repertoire, this class is perfect for you.

This class is designed for CONFIDENT BEGINNERS who've made a few garments in woven fabric following a sewing pattern. Projects that didn’t have too many pieces and seams. Students will work at their own pace during class using studio machines.

Skills Taught:

  • How and why to use fusible interfacing
  • Understitching and edgestitching
  • Standard zipper installation
  • Sewing darts
  • Seam allowance finishing
