About the event
You want to sew garments for yourself, you found and bought a pattern you like, you open the pattern to begin the project and...it's like reading a foreign language! Â Where do you begin and what is a grainline anyway?!
This class will guide you in interpreting and understanding the actual sewing pattern including the size chart, measurements, fabrics for beginner sewists, the guide sheet or instructions, pattern pieces, layouts and sewing terminology. Â We'll also discuss paper versus PDF patterns.
This course caters to Beginner Teens (ages 15-18) who have experimented with simple sewing tasks and are seeking further direction and expert guidance. Additionally, Garment Basics 101 is beneficial for teens with prior experience in sewing garments, offering a refresher to deepen their comprehension.
