About the event
Join us for a fun evening of Flower Pounding!
Indulge in the process of capturing the essence of nature onto fabric, as you learn the technique of flower pounding. Each delicate petal and leaf becomes a paintbrush, revealing its patterns and colors as you transfer their essence onto cloth.
Under the guidance of our very own artisan, Ms. Tanna, you'll explore an array of blooming treasures using a variety of flowers and plants to compose your own unique artwork. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a curious beginner, this workshop offers an experience that will leave you inspired. Take home your one-of-a-kind masterpiece, a tangible reminder of your creative journey and a testament to the delicate harmony between art and nature.
During this creative fiber art event we will discuss how to prepare fabric to maintain the natural dyes of the plants once transferred onto the fiber. Students will then release their creativity by designing their art using fresh flowers, plants and leaves. Once the pounding is complete, students will learn about a variety of ways to display and enhance their work, including the addition of embroidery. Several embroidery stitches will also be taught. Students will walk away with a unique piece of art that can be used in a variety of projects, or even framed and hung on the wall.
