ANNETTE JOHSNON - The BERNINA Virtuoso
Annette’s love of sewing began early, inspired by watching her grandmother sew and mend with care and precision. That early fascination turned into a lifelong passion and a professional journey rooted in technical excellence and creative exploration.
A proud Bernina owner since her first 930, Annette has decades of
hands-on experience working with the evolution of sewing technology, from mechanical precision to today’s powerful computerized systems. She brings deep knowledge of machine capabilities, helping makers fully understand and maximize the tools at their fingertips.
With a background in tailoring, alterations, and custom costume design including wedding gowns, prom dresses, and competitive dance and figure skating attire, Annette developed a meticulous eye for construction, fit, and detail.
In recent years, quilting and embroidery have become central to her creative work. Annette specializes in precision piecing, embroidery integration, and exploring advanced features that elevate quilting from traditional to extraordinary. She is passionate about helping students unlock the full potential of their Bernina machines through thoughtful technique and hands-on guidance.
Known for her calm confidence and clear instruction, Annette creates an encouraging environment where students gain technical mastery while expanding their creative vision.
