Beginner Quilt Blocks

Join us at Sew Magarbo for a Beginner Quilt Block of the Month. While this BOM is geared toward beginners, intermediate quilters will also benefit from tips and tricks learned during this class. 

Over the course of 7 classes, we will tackle various skills introduced in the Boreal Forest quilt pattern. During our first gathering, we will chat about color theory and substrates, spend some time shopping for our fabrics, and get to know each other. Students will also receive a lesson on precision cutting as pieces for each block will need to be cut prior to subsequent meetings. Each meeting will cover a new technique and students will sew their blocks with instructor guidance. We will finish our series with a celebration! 

This Block of the Month series is a great way to learn new skills, meet quilty friends, complete a quilt top, and have fun!

You will learn:

• How to read a quilt pattern
• Accurately piece and assemble a quilt top
• Lots of tips & techniques!

Materials needed:

• List is found in email when registered
• Pattern is included
• We provide the sewing machine!

SKILL LEVEL:

Beginner - Intermediate> refer to skill level guide

Must know how to....

• Use rotary cutter and ruler
• Use a sewing machine
• Sew a straight line
