Jasika Blazer Weekend Workshop

If you have ever considered making a classic tailored blazer which is fitted to you personally, or you are

interested in further advancing your sewing skills, this class is for you! During this 3-day workshop,we will begin by

creating a muslin garment to ensure proper fit of the blazer. Once fit is confirmed, we will then dive into

the tailoring techniques as we construct the blazer. This will include practicing techniques such as welt

pocket construction or shoulder shaping, or a demonstration of how to properly set a lapel roll line. Students

will also learn to use many tailoring tools (tailoring ham, clapper, point presser) which are relied on to

get that classic blazer look.

This classed is designed for advanced sewists who are knowledgeable in garment construction. Take your sewing skills to the next level with instructor, Donna Kowalick, as she demonstrates techniques for making your very own gorgeously tailored jacket.

This class is offered as a Full Weekend Workshop:

• Friday, April 21, 2023; 6:30-9:30pm
• Saturday, April 22 11, 2023; 9:00am-5:00pm
• Sunday, April 23, 2023; 9:00am-5:00pm

There will also be an included, but optional, Meet and Greet for the registered attendees on Thursday, April 13 from 6:30-8:30pm. During the Meet and Greet, students will meet the instructor and other participants. Instructor will ensure everyone has determined proper fit, understands the homework for class, and address any questions. 

NOTE:  To be successful, students must have their homework completed prior to the first class. Homework and supply list is provided after registering.

Materials Included: 

• A tailoring kit is provided for each student! Included in the kit is: fusible weft interfacing, fusible knit interfacing, horsehair canvas, cotton stay tape, shoulder pads, and sleeveheads

Materials needed: 

• List is found in email when registered
• We provide the sewing machine, but feel free to bring your own!
