Pepin Tote

Hey there, sewing enthusiasts and DIY dabblers! Are you ready to jazz up your wardrobe with a touch of handmade flair? Join us for a fun-filled sewing adventure where we'll make a chic tote bag complete with leather handles and a snazzy magnetic closure. It's perfect for everyday use or trips. It's a great size for carrying those items that don't fit in your purse or sewing/knitting projects. This class is for anyone itching to add a personal touch to their everyday accessories.

In this confident beginner class, students will walk away with a fabulous tote bag and learn a variety of skills along the way. This is the first in a series of bag-making classes and is a great project to learn the basics of bag construction.

Students will learn:

• How to adhere stabilizer and understand why and when it is used
• How to sew with leather
• Tricks of sewing with bulky fabrics
• Tips for making professional-looking bags

This class is designed for confident beginner sewists (please refer to our skill level guide: https://www.sewmagarbo.com/skilllevelguide) and basic knowledge of using a sewing machine is necessary. Students will work at their own pace during class using studio machines.

Supplies: 

• All supplies are INCLUDED!
• Students will have the option to purchase a ticket that includes either Essex Linen OR Japanese print canvas for the exterior of the bag. *Fabric selections will be made by the student prior to class.
