After School STEAM program is available for students in grades 1-5 (ages 5 through 12) at selected elementary and intermediate schools in the Loudoun County Area. The purpose of Sew Magarbo is to offer a safe, structured environment for school aged children, assisting them with their physical, educational, and psychological growth. The program provides a wide array of activities including homework assistance, afternoon snacks, crafts, sports, games and time to play (We highly encourage use of imagination and creativity)

At Sew Magarbo, picking up your kids after work no longer means more driving around to take them to their extra curricular activities. Creative Arts Classes, Music, Sports even Self-Defense can now be done in a safe, clean, home like environment low 1:4 ratio.  

Our AfterSchool Program starts right after the end of school day and ends at 6:30pm (We know you have to work) and includes:

  • Licensed and experienced driver that will pickup from school. For current schools we pick up, please click HERE.
  • Homework and  Snack time
  • Programs to enrich their creativity and more that promotes, responsibility, discipline and self-confidence
  • Fee starts at $125/week (2-3x a week also available)

Enrichment Programs:

Sewing
For children, weekly sewing classes can help develop creativity, confidence, and self-esteem while learning a rewarding and valuable skill. Designed to teach beginning sewing skills to children as young as 6 years old
Students  receive hands-on, step-by-step instruction on: sewing machine operation, pattern placement, inserting zippers, making button holes, and more.
After mastering basic sewing skills, students have the opportunity to move on to more challenging projects.
Students can express their own unique style and personality by choosing their fabric and adding their own special touches to the garment and projects they make.
 
Creative Arts
Various forms of art will be introduced and tackled in this program.  Knitting, Crocheting, Drawing, Painting

Kidpreneurship
Learn the basic principles of sound money management using the award winning program of Mr. Adam and Mr. Matthew Toren.

Survival Math Skills 
This curriculum teaches students FUNCTIONAL Math Skills through REAL-LIFE applications.  From planning adequate nutrition, arranging for transportation, and maintaining bank accounts to preparing budgets and understanding job benefits.  These lessons will guide afterschoolers through the mathematics that affect their daily lives.

Cake Decorating
Not the typical decorating of putting sprinkles on icing :-)  Taught by a professional cake decorator, afterschoolers will partake in cake decor class that builds skills in each session.

Self-Defense Class
will be taught by Master Eric Thompson of Kickers Martial Arts Center

Dance Lessons
To further enhance confidence and self-esteem, afterschoolers are encourage to learn simple choreographies throughout the year and be able to show these moves at our fashion show in June 2018

Digital Photography & Digital Design *
We're gonna dust off those cameras you have sitting at home! Children will learn all the ropes in taking great pictures finally using the real cameras!  all fundamentals will be covered plus learn digital design to fix photos, digital scrapbook, etc.
